ORLANDO BLOOM BIOGRAPHY

Orlando Bloom, who makes his major feature film debut in The Fellowship Of The Ring, graduated from Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London. Bloom was born in Canterbury, Kent. At 16, he moved to London where he joined the National Youth Theatre for two seasons and then gained a scholarship to train with the British American Drama Academy. On completion of his scholarship, Bloom played the lead in "A Walk in the Vienna Woods." Bloom’s screen debut was in the feature film Wilde. He was then accepted to Guildhall and chose to put his screen career on hold for the opportunity to further his education.

Orlando got the part of Legolas Greenleaf in The Lord of the Rings 2 days before graduating from the Guildhall. Two years of filming later, and to remember his experience, he has a ring with an Elven inscription reading ' to wherever it may lead' and a tattoo in Elvish script of the number nine on his forearm, in additional to an already existing sun on his stomach.

Standing at 5ft 11'', his hobbies include surfing, skydiving, and photography. He supports Manchester United, he smokes and he has a dog named Maude. Orlando spends most of his time in London or Los Angeles.
