Features explained
- HP700 emulation. This new emulation mode allows running applications specifically
written for the Hewlett Packard HP700 family of terminals.
- Custom 3-D box
types. You can now define your own attribute types. There are
still the predefined In-Box, Out-Box and Edit-Box available, but the new
customization allows defining any foreground and background RGB-color
(along with other attributes) for your own types. See snapshot of the
screen below.
- passive mode FTP
connection. This feature allows connecting through a firewall
that doesn't allow incoming sessions. This feature can be
configured individually for each site in the Site manager.
- AniTaFTP now has the same option as AniTa to connect
over a LAN even if I.E. is configured to
auto-dial. This
solves a problem if your PC is configured for both a LAN connection to your
host and a dial-up connection to Internet configured for auto-dail by the
I.E. Browser. AniTaFTP can now be set to ignore the auto-dial connection
and go directly to the LAN TCP/IP.
- Printing to a GDI-printer now filters all control codes under
0x20 (' '). This is useful to avoid stray formatting
characters sometimes sent by mistake from the host application to show up
as square characters on a Windows GDI printer.
- Terminal printing option: 'Auto-LineFeed'. CR or LF or CR followed by LF
produces a single linefeed. This is useful if your data is not really
formatted for a printer output. It doesn't matter if the record ends
like traditional UNIX or DOS or Windows files, as long as there is a CR
and/or LF separating each line.
- Terminal printing option: 'Auto-FormFeed'. Will send a
FormFeed character to a printer before closing the printer if the last
printed character wasn't a formfeed. GDI printers
will always have Auto-FormFeed enabled. Many modern printers will not
print the data sent to it until a formfeed is received. Turn on this
option to make sure the last page is always printed after the printer is
closed.
- Excel DDE machanism improved. Work around some of
the problems in Excel's support for DDE machanism: You can now
use Request(gettxt;y;y;dx;dy) command item to both specify the string
rect to be screenscraped and also get the data. See detailed examples in
the AniTa Programmer's Guide.
- International on-line help updated. English and
Swedish on-line help is updted to fully cover the new features in AniTa
5.1.
